Awards and Qualifications:

  • National Certificate in Diving (Instruction) Level 6
  • SSI Open Water Instructor (if you are at least 18 years old, have logged 100 dives and have passed the Instructor Evaluation)
  • SSI Specialty Instructor × 5
  • SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Instructor
  • SSI Dive Control Specialist (if you are at least 18 years old and have logged 60 dives)
  • Snorkel Instructor

What You Will Learn

  • Instruct clients on rescue diving
  • Instruct recreational divers in underwater navigation
  • Instruct clients in night dives
  • Instruct clients in search and recovery diving
  • Instruct clients on deep diving
  • Instruct clients about Diving off Boats


  • Certification of SSI Dive Control Specialist Rating or Equivalent
  • You must be at least 18 years of age, and have a current Fitness to Dive Medical issued by a physician
